William August Hunt is a composer based in Los Angeles, CA.
His music can be heard in trailers for films and series including Moana 2, The Mandalorian, House of the Dragon, Frozen 2, Star Wars, Fantastic Beasts, Avengers: Infinity War, The King’s Man, Hamilton, and A24’s Close. Take a look.
William has also worked extensively in video game advertising, creating original music for The Last Guardian and Astroneer, among others.
He has composed for brands including Lexus, Ferrari, Nissan, Toyota, Western Digital, Target, and Playstation.
William has worked with film composer Roger Suen to score The Retirement Plan with Nicolas Cage, Love in Taipei (Paramount +), and PBS American Experience: Boston Busing Battle.
His work can be heard in the Lucasfilm documentary Under the Helmet: The Legacy of Boba Fett, and in the TBS/HBO series Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses. He co-composed the opening title theme for CNN’s Declassified, and worked as a song arranger on Disney’s The Jungle Book.
William has won Clio Awards for projects including HBO’s House of the Dragon, Beauty and the Beast, Bloodborne, and A24’s Marcel The Shell With Shoes On. His work on The Jungle Book was awarded the Golden Trailer Award for “Best Original Music”.
Since 2013 he has worked with The Hit House, a premier music and sound design company.
A multi-instrumentalist proficient on cello, guitar, piano, and clawhammer banjo, William often incorporates his own performance into his work. He holds a Masters of Music from NYU in Music Theory and Composition, and a BA in Music from Cal Poly Pomona.
